We all strive for happiness and contentment, and to achieve this we need to take care of our basic mental needs.


Health and well-being are integral aspects of our lives. We all strive for happiness and contentment, and to achieve this we need to take care of our basic mental needs.

Here are 12 basic needs that will help you live a full and healthy life:

1. The need to feel pleasure (at the level of neurotransmitters):
  • Solve problems and relieve pain so your brain can relax and enjoy life.
  • Look for positive experiences and engage in everyday activities in which you can have a successful outcome.
2. Physical needs:
  • Eat properly and regularly to provide your body with the necessary nutrients.
  • Drink enough water to maintain hydration.
  • Make time for quality sleep that restores your strength.
  • Exercise to keep your body in good shape.
3. The need for sex:
  • Remember that sex is a natural and important part of human life. It helps us enjoy intimacy and strengthen relationships.
4. The need for relationships:
  • Develop strong and meaningful relationships.
  • Look for a relationship in which you will feel secure attachment, authenticity, belonging and trust.
  • Participate in communication and maintain emotional, intellectual and spiritual connections with other people.
5. The need for love:
  • Create a relationship that will be full of respect, acceptance, approval.
  • Treat yourself and others with understanding, empathy and support.
  • Remember to forgive and be gentle with each other.
6. Need for security:
  • Create a reliable and safe space for yourself and your loved ones.
  • Ensure your financial stability.
  • Set healthy boundaries and stick to them.
7. Need for purpose:
  • Find your purpose in life, whether it's in work or career, service to others or education. This will help you feel directed and achieve satisfaction.
8. The need for rest:
  • Don't forget the importance of rest and entertainment.
  • Make time for games and fun.

  • Be human, show empathy and compassion.

12. Need for satisfaction:
  • Strive for peace, harmony and wholeness.
  • Find joy in simple things and enjoy every moment of life.
