How I work with this

In addressing issues of seeking meaning and personal growth, I draw upon a deep understanding of how your psyche is organized. Often, behind an obsessive and exhausting drive to "improve oneself" lies a deep, unconscious belief in one's inadequacy (defectiveness schema), which demands continuous compensation through new achievements and skills. We closely examine what transpires between us during the session (analysis of transference) to observe live how you construct relationships with the world and which specific internal patterns block your spontaneous, living self-expression. For clients experiencing deep internal conflicts between their own desires and learned rules (neurotic personality structure), our work focuses on relieving this tension and legitimizing the right to be oneself.

If we are dealing with a more fragile and unstable sense of self, where the internal image of the world and one's own personality fluctuates sharply between idealization and complete devaluation (borderline personality organization, or BPO), the main goal of therapy is to gather these scattered pieces together. Through TFP tools, we develop your capacity to perceive yourself and others holistically (identity integration). This allows you to gradually abandon the rigid, black-and-white division of the world into "ideal" and "terrible" (splitting mechanism) and achieve a stable, realistic, meaningful life where there is room for both strength and vulnerability.

Do you recognise yourself?

  • feeling that you are living someone else's life
  • constant pursuit of new goals that leave you feeling empty once achieved
  • fear of slowing down and being left alone with your thoughts
  • chronic self-dissatisfaction despite objective success
  • frequent difficulty answering the question "what do I truly want"
  • internal blurring of your own boundaries and needs
  • background anxiety stemming from not understanding your true place in the world

If you recognised 3+ points — it is a good reason to talk to a psychologist.

Approach & Methodology

The need for self-discovery often arises not from an excess of free time, but from a quiet yet oppressive feeling of inner emptiness or detachment from one's own life. It feels as if you are playing a role in a play you did not choose, and even social or career achievements fail to bring the expected deep satisfaction. This state is a signal that certain parts of your personality have been repressed, frozen, or discarded—often in early childhood—to preserve a vital connection with important adults.

In my office, we do not search for a "better version of yourself" as yet another unattainable ideal to live up to. Gently and without expectation, we explore your authentic, sometimes painful or contradictory feelings and desires hidden behind a facade of success, intellectualization, or habitual compliance. This is a collaborative journey toward meeting who you truly are, free from the imposed expectations of society and learned rules of psychological survival.

Questions & Answers

How can I understand what I want if I feel nothing but emptiness inside? +

What feels like emptiness is most often not the absence of desires, but a massive psychological defense against complex feelings that were once too unbearable to cope with. In a safe therapeutic space, we gradually reduce this internal tension, which allows your true needs to manifest and be heard.

Can psychotherapy change my values so much that I lose touch with my loved ones? +

In the process of getting to know your true self, your priorities and views can indeed transform. However, the ability to better understand yourself, maintain your own boundaries, and rely on your real needs usually makes relationships with others deeper and more honest. Connections begin to be built not on anxiety, dependence, or fear of rejection, but on mutual respect and a conscious choice to be near.

Will talking about the past make me feel even more lost in myself? +

We touch on past experiences not to get stuck in them or look for someone to blame. This is necessary to understand exactly how it shapes your current reactions and choices. Realizing this connection allows you to let go of outdated survival mechanisms and free up energy to create your own authentic life in the present.

How does this approach differ from coaching or self-development training? +

Coaching usually focuses on goal setting and skills to achieve them on a conscious level. We explore unconscious barriers, fears, and internal conflicts that make these goals unattainable or deprive them of joy. My task is not to train your "success", but to help you find inner wholeness, from which your own meanings naturally arise.
