About me
Anna Prozorova
Psychologist · Psychotherapist · Kyiv
I have been conducting psychological consultations since 2007 and psychotherapy since 2015.
I practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy (psychoanalysis). I use the TFP approach when working with people with borderline, narcissistic, and other personality disorders.
I also integrate schema therapy into my practice, which helps us carefully untangle deep life scripts and emotional traps that make you experience loneliness or anxiety over and over again.
Member of the National Psychological Association, Division of Psychoanalytic Psychology and Psychotherapy. Member of the Complex Trauma Institute (UK).
Personal experience of psychotherapy since 2015. Personal experience of group psychotherapy — 5 years. I receive supervision on an ongoing basis.
When it's hard to explain what's inside...
My name is Anna. I work with people who often find it hard to choose the right words to describe their state. When there seems to be no single, visible "problem," but rather a persistent feeling that something inside isn't coming together, isn't holding up, and prevents them from living peacefully and feeling grounded.
People rarely come to me with a clear, dry request. More often, it's a deep internal pain and confusion:
- "I feel like I'm not real, I lose the understanding of who I am when I'm alone."
- "There is too much of me, or conversely, it's as if I don't exist at all."
- "I dissolve in my partner so much that I lose the boundary where I end and another person begins."
I work with states characterized by high vulnerability, acute sensitivity, and internal instability. When everyday events or the slightest fluctuations in relationships are experienced as deep, intense, and painful stings. This is hard to notice from the outside and is usually completely misunderstood by others.
For those used to being strong and holding on
Most of my clients are people who are too used to being resilient. They work successfully, execute projects, build careers, and look put together and productive. Every day they tell themselves that "nothing terrible is happening."
But behind this facade of success and ability to keep it together (high-functioning borderline level) lies a completely different, exhausting experience:
- Constant background anxiety and periodic powerlessness (depression). When, despite external achievements, you live with a constant sense of fatigue, anxiety about the future, and internal emptiness that you have to step over every day by forcing yourself.
- Relationship swings (problems with a partner). When intimacy brings not only warmth but also constant fear: from the panic of losing a person and being left alone with emptiness, to the desire to push away, close off, or leave first so as not to be hurt. Relationships turn into a battlefield where it's hard to find peace.
- Emotional storms that are hard to calm (affect dysregulation). Feelings overwhelm you so suddenly and intensely that they are almost impossible to endure and understand. Outbursts of resentment, despair, or anger frighten you. Then you either have to "disconnect" and feel numb inside, or spend colossal effort to contain this emotional explosion.
- Loss of bearings and the "Who am I?" crisis (identity disturbance). Constant internal tension from the fact that your "I" seems blurred. It changes depending on who is next to you, making it difficult to feel like a truly whole and alive person.
The result that remains
This is not quick work. Sometimes it may seem like we are standing still or moving too slowly. But it is precisely at this safe pace that something is born that you may never have had before:
- A clearer, warmer, and more stable sense of your own "I".
- Reliable internal resilience and support that stays with you, regardless of external circumstances.
- The ability to be in a live relationship with other people without losing or destroying yourself.
These are the changes that truly stay with you forever.
If you recognize yourself in these lines, you can write to me. Even if right now you don't know how to formulate the problem or where to start. We can clarify this together, gradually and very carefully.
Why you can trust me?
A psychotherapist cannot guide a client further than they have gone themselves. Therefore, my main tool is my own resilience and being worked-through:
- I have continuous personal experience of individual psychotherapy since 2015.
- Completed 5 years of personal group psychotherapy, which allows me to deeply understand interpersonal processes and what happens between people in relationships.
- For the safety of my clients and the purity of the process, I receive a professional review of my work with leading colleagues on an ongoing basis (supervisions).
I do not "merge" with your pain and do not dissolve in it. My professional position remains stable. This is precisely what allows me to see a little more than you can see from inside the storm, and help you gradually understand yourself and your states.
